Whereas previous studies on vocabulary coverage in texts have been based mainly on paper books, this study focuses on online English storybooks for Korean elementary learners. It examines two fourth graders’ vocabulary coverage in three different levels of storybooks used for the EBS Chomokdal online program and their effects on processing new words. Their vocabulary coverage ranged from 85% to 94%, and they performed well in the post-test regardless of the percentages. Furthermore, it has been observed that they retrieve newly learned words relatively easily thanks to audiovisuals, graphic animations, and various online activities, which are the advantages of online learning programs.
